Move Over Flame, Here Comes The Safe Candle.
Everyone loves the look and smell of fragrant candles. But not all aromatic candles are created equal.
For decades I was a flame candle fan until I began to read reports about the odd accidents that happen while burning them. Candle users reported occasions where the glass of the candle got so hot it burned their fingers, or (and this happened to me) it got hot enough that the glass cracked when the candle was near the end of the wax. Needless to say there were reports of fires caused by flame candles. And while the number of fires compared to the number of flame candles sold is very small, it can be very devastating.
Many people love to leave their candles burning while they are away from the home. Some like to tuck their candles away in a cupboard or under a sink so it is not visible, but think of the dangers involved with an open flame surrounded by all that wood. Definitely an accident waiting to happen. Many businesses, schools and retirement homes prohibit the burning of open flames due to the risks involved.
Both my wife and I were very ecstatic when we were introduced to the electric candle warmer. One in particular that caught our uses a low watt light bulb to melt the fragrant wax. The company has dozens of wax scents and candle warmers to choose from and since the wax is just warm it does not burn if it accidentally spills.
The flameless candles are great. You can easily change out the fragrant waxes in just minutes, lukewarm or cold and they are safe for the office, around little ones, or anywhere you would like to change the atmosphere. And with multiple kinds to choose from a wickless candle can easily enhance the furnishings of your house. Instead of a burning flame which is generally kept out of the way so it is not knocked over or catches anything on fire, the electric warmers become part of who you are. Some designs even portray your preferred college sports team logos!
Electric warmers are becoming more popular every day. But be sure you get them from a reputable business. After all, you get what you pay for. Some are so inferior they fall apart within just a few uses. The only down side to them is they don’t help much when the lights go out.
Now, my house is decorated with safe candle warmers. We have them scattered through the house. They are great for replacing unwanted odors in the cooking area, bath rooms, bed room, play rooms and laundry rooms. Most distributors of safe candles or fragrant candles also sell products for the car (I hang a car air freshener in my garage!). And with scents and warmer designs for all seasons and occations it is no wonder that the products are lighting the way in a revolution to retire old flame based candles.
